Book now to hear the spellbinding violinist Min Kym read and play
It’s the stuff of film scripts: a child from a not particularly musical background wins her first international prize at 11, becomes the youngest ever pupil at the Purcell School of Music, struggles with the label ‘prodigy’ , waits and waits for her intrumental other half. At 21 she finds it and her career rockets as she plays her rare 1696 Stradivarius. ‘All my life my Stradivarius had been waiting for me, as I had been waiting for her…’
Suddenly, it all comes crashing down: the violin is stolen and her world implodes…she is left unable to play a note.
This was Min Kym‘s life and now it’s also her book, the mesmerising and touching memoir Gone, a story of isolation, love, loss and, above all, of hope through a journey back to music.
We are incredibly pleased to invite you to hear Min talk about her book and also to hear her play her new violin. Join us for what promises to be an extraordinary evening on June 14th at 7.30pm. Entry is free, but booking is required so reserve your place via 0207 431 firstname.lastname@example.org
